Me??? A hypocrite???

I was reading an almost one yr old article today and was surprised at what it said… The heading read “For every 5 marriages in Mumbai, there are 2 divorces” . Believe me when I say I was shocked. I knew things these days are pretty bad but then the rate at which divorces are happening is saddening. Too shocking for words. I guess now would not be the time to sit and analyze why divorces are happening. People have done that pretty well for the last couple of years. And nothing seems to have changed as a result of this analysis. So I guess that leaves us with the question…. What can be done now?. I’m not sure that anybody can come up with an answer for that question. The reason I think being, all of us in our quest for technology growth and modernization have forgotten what it means to live in harmony and make sacrifices for our neighbors. Some of us consider divorce as a major crime. Believers would argue saying that it is breaking a commitment made in God’s presence. If that is the case, is divorce any worse that breaking a promise made to God??? Is divorce any worse than telling a lie.??? After all, in God’s sight there is no big sin or a small sin. So when people like us (who think that divorce is something that we will never even dream of doing) lie or get angry, aren’t we being hypocritical??? I can almost hear Jesus screaming….” Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness.” Mathew 23:27
